A reddit comment claimed that Silverstone in Georgia demanded they pay $25,000 more for their home or they would terminate the contract.“We signed a contract in Feb with Silverstone in GA to be completed in July, end of May they hadn’t even started yet, but suddenly hit us with a 25k (from 400k) price increase and push to October on a sat night, agree by Monday morning or they terminate the contract. They had no line in the contract for price increases and they knew it. I threatened lawyer and they said they didn’t care. Prob assumed (correctly) that we’d cave because we really want the house more than a long lawsuit. Still feels like we got bullied, but hoping we’ll forget it once the house is built.
